Cabbage soup

4 servings:

  • 500g minced pork
  • 1 bunch of spring onions
  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 1 shallot
  • 1 Tbsp fish sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt and some ground black pepper

Step 1

Mince shallot. Then in a big bowl, add pork, shallot, fish sauce, salt and pepper. Mix well.


Step 2

Cut the core out of the cabbage. Cut the roots off the spring onions. Place both cabbage and spring onions in boiling water to blanch (1-2 minutes).


Step 3

Gently remove cabbage leaves. Try not to break them.


Step 4

Place 1 or 1.5 Tbsp of the pork mixture into each cabbage leave. Roll then tie with a spring onion.


Step 5

Gently place the rolls in a pot. Add water (roughtly 1.5L). Bring to boil then reduce heat to medium. Cook for about 45 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste if needed.
